The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation seeks to end pediatric HIV/AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs.
Alpha Epsilon Phi sister, Elizabeth Glaser, contracted HIV in a blood transfusion in 1981 while giving birth to her daughter, Ariel. She and her husband, Paul, later learned that Elizabeth had unknowingly passed the virus on to Ariel through breast milk and that their son, Jake, had contracted the virus in utero.
In the course of trying to treat Ariel, the Glasers discovered, that drug companies and health agencies had no idea that HIV was prevalent among children. The only drugs on the market were for adults; nothing had been tested or approved for children.
Unfortunately, Ariel and Elizabeth both lost their fights, but their mission lives on in Elizabeth's son Jake who is now a healthy adult.
For Elizabeth Glaser, Alpha Epsilon Phi has held a philanthopy week and other numerous fundraisers.
Below is the "Kisses for Kids" fundraiser held for Elizabeth Glaaser last spring.

Sharasharet is a national not-for-profit organization supporting women and their families facing breast cancer. Though their focus is jewish women, women of any faith can reach out to Sharsharet for support.
Founded in 2001 by alumni and Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sharsharet has raised breast cancer awareness to all women, specifically focusing on the Ashkenazi jewish women who are born with a gene that raises their risk for the disease.
Since its founding in 2001, Sharsheret has responded to more than 40,000 breast cancer and ovarian cancer inquiries, involved more than 3,000 peer supporters, developed 12 national support and education programs, and presented more than 250 educational programs nationwide.
In recognition of Sharsheret’s important contributions to women’s health, Sharsheret was named a recipient of the New York State Innovation in Breast Cancer Early Detection and Research Award, and selected as a member of the LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance.
In 2010, recognizing the need for specific support for those facing ovarian cancer, Sharsheret launched a national ovarian cancer program.
For Sharsharet, Alpha Epsilon Phi hosts a "Pink Week" to celebrate our national's "Pink Day".
